A scarlet blur of swagger and panache, the dashing swashbuckler jumped from the balcony, landing on the shoulder of the statue of her Excellence the Empress herself, a good fifteen feet above the ground. Around the monument, palace courtiers and festive diplomats were laughing and clapping at the display of skill, convinced they just witnessed the surprise show of an impromptu acrobat. They quickly realized it wasn't exactly a planned event when a group of ironclad imperial guards reached the balcony, huffing and puffing under their plate armour. As they tried to strike the crimson outlaw with their halberds, it became clear this sword-bearing newcomer was some sort of intruder. Not losing a second, the nimble outlaw kissed goodbye to the armed guard before jumping from the statue's shoulder, using the stone Empress exaggerated dress rump as a ramp before landing with a pirouette in the middle of the assembly. Up on the balcony, the guards were pushed aside by a red-faced and outraged Empress, dishevelled as she just got out of bed. She screamed in anger and injured ego: ''How dare you?! No one refuses the Empress! Arrest this ungrateful scoundrel!'' She ordered, spurring a few prideful nobles to draw their rapier and attempt to stop the nimble fleeing fencer. Apologizing in advance, the swashbuckler freed a long fencing dagger and a matching arming sword, before methodically destroying both the nobles' ego and their fancy clothes as they bit the dust, uninjured but out of commission. With a taunting reverence, the agile duellist turned toward the Empress and screamed, a giggle in the voice; ''I am quite sorry my dear, but I prefer to go with no strings attached. I am sure you will find another pretty face to join your so-called musketeers''. And with a stunning smile, the adventurous insolent escaped through the gardens, leaving the Empress dealing with a small court scandal on top of her bruised pride. -

On the tenth night of the siege, the attackers revealed their true colours. Until now, they had attacked only in small skirmishes, climbing walls at various points to test the defenders' numbers and to spot any weakness. But on that fateful night, they unleashed a full-scale assault, showing to the castle inhabitants that they had colluded with a goblin horde to flesh out their army before the attack. Using goblin mercenaries was a clear sign of infamy, for the nasty little creatures were known cannibals, and thus would often deny an honourable surrender to the defenders. By hiring them, the attackers were aiming for a quick victory, the monster providing a clear numerical advantage, and the useful capacity to climb stone walls without any siege equipment. However, their plan backfired horribly. At the first sight of the goblins, panic quickly spread among the denizens of Castle Valdemar. Everyone knew such a horde meant assured death for them all... if they managed to take the castle. As the walls were getting overwhelmed and breached at many points by the green tide, a mismatched troop of stalwart defenders emerged from the lord's armoury, clad in ill-sized armors and wielding mass-produced swords meant for levied troops. They were blacksmiths, stonemasons, apprentices, stable boys, maids, even scribes. Many had seen too many seasons, or too few, but spurred on by desperation, the brave mob swarmed across the wavering defences, helping the struggling guards and knights fend off the attack. By the next morning, the humiliated goblin horde, untrustworthy at their best, had abandoned the enemy camp, leaving with all their employer's supplies in the process. The siege was over. won by the valiant effort of those who picked up a sword and fought for survival. -

It is well known that Orcs are great and ruthless warriors. However, they are not the best blacksmiths of the kingdom. That’s why, during their endless pillages and looting, wise fighters take the best swords of their defeated foes. Later, deep within the mountains, the orcish blacksmiths break appart the sword, tear the gems out of their sockets, remove useless guards and melt anything that isn’t a blade. This fantasy sabre inspired by Chinese dao swords is a nimble blade made for LARP combat. With a subtle curve and an inclined handle, it is a comfortable and fast moving weapon in the hand, and it can suit many oriental or Asia inspired characters, as well as elves, dragon warriors, or imperial guards.Legend
The Jade Protectorate's army was outmatched in number, as well as equipment and troop quality. They had nomad mercenary riders, light infantry militias, and only a handful of professional soldiers at their disposal. By all accounts, they stood no fighting chance in the field, and the Purple Legion they were facing grew confident and bold, trusting in their heavily armored footmen to win the day. Placing the rowdy and lightly geared levy troops in the middle of the formation had created an obvious weak spot in the Protectorate's lines, a crack in the armor that could be exploited to break their ranks and ensure a quick victory to the overwhelming forces of the Purple Legion. It was no surprise that this is where they concentrated their attack. In fact, it was exactly what the Jade's Strategist had been hoping for. As the Legion's iron clad soldiers clashed against the Jade's lines, the centre slowly gave ground, backing off as they were pushed by the much stronger soldiers facing them. What the Purple Legion didn't know was that the quick-footed militias holding the middle had been instructed to do so, to exaggerate their weakness so the Legion would commit their force there. To embolden the Legion even more with a false sense of invincibility, the nomad riders retreated from the battlefield as if they were fleeing, only to make a wide turn and slowly maneuver around the enemy for a rear charge. Before long, the Purple Legion was pushing so deep in the centerline that they were essentially getting themselves flanked, and suddenly, the seemingly broken militia they had been pushing back stood firmly and fought tooth and nail, closing the U shaped trap, with most of the enemies now caught between jaws of spears and swords. Realizing too late they had been lured into a terrible engagement, the Purple Legion's officers tried to back away and reform their lines, but this is when the nomad riders returned and charged them forces in the rear, closing the trap and creating a perfect encirclement despite the Protectorate's numerical disadvantage. The battle was won in that instant, and the Strategist's masterful tactics had won him a place in military history. He had personally been fighting in the center with his honour guard, hiding among the levy troops and keeping their morale high for their crucial role in this battle. Accounts say that his long curved dao sword took the life of the Purple commander in single combat, personally sealing the fate of the one so blinded by pride he fell for this well-crafted ruse. -
