It is the last generation of gods who reigned over Ireland before the invasion of the sons of Milesius, the ancestors of the modern Irish. At the second battle of Magh Tuireadh, the Tuatha dé Danann crushed the Formorians, violent and monstrous sea gods, largely thanks to their magical powers. They are said to have learned magic in four wonderful northern towns, Falias, Gorias, Finias and Murias. From these towns, the Tuatha de Danann brought to Ireland four talismans: “The Stone of Fal”, “The Magical Sword of Nuada”, “The Spear and Sling of Lugh” and “The Cauldron of Dagda”. These Irish gods like the Tuatha de Danann were common to everyone Celtic. Their name can be found in Welsh myths and inscriptions in continental Europe.
